Prometheus sviluppa dispositivi per la medicina rigenerativa.

Il progetto è nato dall’unione della passione dei 3 co-founder per la stampa 3D e le biotecnologie.

Il primo prodotto è Ematik: un patch personalizzato che combina un derivato del sangue del paziente con dei biomateriali in stampa 3D per la cura delle ferite difficili, come piaghe da decubito o ulcere diabetiche.

Il patch agisce come una seconda pelle: stimola la rigenerazione, riducendo drasticamente i tempi di guarigione, senza cicatrici.

Prometheus offre un sistema completo, fornendo anche una macchina automatizzata che estrae molecole attive dal sangue del paziente per la preparazione del patch in un sistema chiuso e sterile.

Ematik è la 1° piattaforma automatizzata per ottenere in modo semplice, ripetibile e sicuro una terapia personalizzata efficace per ospedali e cliniche, senza necessità di personale specializzato.

L’elevata efficacia di Ematik permette di ridurre drasticamente i costi del Sistema Sanitario e del paziente (stimati in circa € 45 k e € 20 k rispettivamente), riducendo i tempi di ospedalizzazione e il n° delle medicazioni. Ematik permette di risparmiare al paziente le dolorose e lunghe terapie oggi in uso, spesso non risolutive e causa di 1 amputazione ogni 30 sec nel mondo.

Ematik è un sistema portabile, chiuso e sterile che metterà a disposizione terapie avanzate anche in Paesi in via di sviluppo, dove c’è carenza di personale specializzato e di infrastrutture che garantiscano la sterilità per terapie cellulari.

Ad oggi Ematik è sul mercato veterinario, l’obiettivo è certificare il prodotto come dispositivo medico per l’uso sull’uomo.

L’azienda sta negoziando un contratto di distrubuzione con una multinazionale per il settore veterinario ed ha già avviato le procedure precliniche per la certificazione sull’uomo.

L’azienda ha raccolto un totale di circa €200k in grant, € 1,3 Mln in equity ed ha ricevuto l’agevolazione di Smart & Start per € 1,2 Mln.

The company was born by the passion of the 3 co-founders for 3D printing and biotechnologies.

The first product is Ematik: a personalized patch combining patient’s blood with 3D printed biomaterials for difficult to heal wounds, such as bedsores or diabetic ulcers. The patch acts like a second skin: enhancing the regeneration, drastically reducing healing times with no scars.

Prometheus offers a complete system and developed an automated machine able to extract active molecules from patient’s blood for the preparation of the patch in a closed and sterile way.

Ematik is the 1° automated platform to obtain in a simple, repeatable and safe manner a personalized and efficient therapy for healthcare structures, with no need for trained personnel.

The high efficacy of Ematik allows to drastically reduce the costs for wound management for both the Healthcare System and the patient (estimated in €45k and €20k respectively) decreasing healing and hospitalization times and the n° of medications. Ematik saves patients from current painful and never-ending non-solving therapies that are the cause of 1 amputation every 30 secs in the world.

Ematik is a portable, close and sterile platform allowing to produce advanced therapies also in developing Countries, where this kind of treatments are not available because of the lack of trained personnel and infrastructures to work in sterility for cell therapies production.

Up today Ematik has been commercialized in the veterinary field, the goal is to certify the product as medical device for human use.

The company is negotiating with an international distributor for the veterinary field and has already started the preclinical phase for the certification of the product in the human field. Prometheus raised almost € 200 k in grants, € 1.3 Mln in equity and received the Smart&Start financing for € 1.2 Mln.
